Case Study

Adopting software to overcome remote working challenges.

When we first met with Active Suffolk one of their main aims was to overcome the communication challenges their team faced. Since then, we have developed and tailored Mantle to suit their requirements as they continue on their quest towards tackling inactivity. The lockdown imposed by the UK government has presented a new set of challenges and we caught up with the team at Active Suffolk to find out how Mantle is helping them to stay on track.

Tackling inactivity by embracing software.

How has Mantle helped you to keep track of your relationships?

"It’s helped to track who else in the team has communicated with key stakeholders and to ensure that as an organisation, we’re remaining in contact with these individuals (local authorities, leisure operators and funders to name a few!)"
Andrew Crowe
Development Officer
"Being able to set reminders and tasks to follow up with partners and stakeholders has been very useful and enabled more meaningful conversations."
Chris Lawson
Project Officer
"Mantle has been excellent in highlighting the key things we, as a team, are doing and who we are chatting to on a regular basis which has become more important now that we are all working remotely."
Susannah Challis
Workforce Development Officer

How has Mantle helped you to organise your work?

"It’s been a useful project tracker to understand where we’re at with individual projects and how the focus of them has changed. For instance, management can now track how a project’s direction of travel has differed due to the implications of coronavirus."
Andrew Crowe
Development Officer
"I have been able to properly organise who and when to contact. More so with Schools, regarding updating them on how we are adapting specific projects."
Oliver Ambrose
Assistant Coordinator

How has Mantle helped you to share your progress with team members?

"Mantle is highly effective and useful for sharing progress, particularly for teams that don’t work directly together all the time. Adopting the platform has improved communication between teams and more connected projects with similar aims/objectives."
Megan Felton
Project Officer - Community Sport & PA (CYP)
"Since working from home, it has become even more important and insightful to keep track of who is chatting to who. Identifying new relationships that have been established and particularly how we are responding to the crisis and supporting our sector with new ways of working. I have found myself checking it more frequently since everyone is working remotely as without Mantle it would be a lot harder to know what everyone is doing."
Susannah Challis
Workforce Development Officer
Mantle provides an easier way to share successes, all in one place, rather than sending lots of email chains where information can be hard to find and easy to miss.
Laura Beale
Marketing Executive

Collaborate
with your team.

I have been able to see the progress of each team member by each a specific project. I can also use this information to quickly understand where the next priorities lay.

"It’s been particularly useful when many of us are working on the This Girl Can project, and other projects that share strategy and demographic. Mantle allows us to check project updates all in one place and highlights work other teams are doing which links back to This Girl Can."
Susannah Challis
Workforce Development Officer
"It’s easy to create projects and add the relevant users as members, to automatically share updates with the project team."
Laura Beale
Marketing Executive
"Mantle is the most useful tool for obtaining information from the team, it makes it so easy to see who has been doing what tasks within their projects and work areas - and links to the interests of our network of stakeholders."
Freya Hall
Administration and Support Officer

How has Mantle helped you to monitor contact engagement?

"I’ve always used the engagement status alerts, even before working from home. It’s important for us to be able to review contact engagement and is probably more important now to keep in contact with key partners in the current climate. We have been increasing contact frequency across our network so that we can support them to get through the crisis, Mantle reminds me when I need to touch base."
Susannah Challis
Workforce Development Officer
"Mantle enables me to quickly obtain information of key stakeholders I need to make contact with. On each stakeholder’s timeline, I can see if my colleagues from my work area have already made contact to avoid duplicated effort."
Janet Lawrence
Project Officer
"I feel more organised and it allows me to prioritise contact engagement."
Chris Lawson
Project Officer

How has Mantle helped you to manage and operate projects?

"Mantle has been particularly useful here. Both from a personal project tracker perspective and also to understand where colleagues are up to with their own projects. Previously, we would have had to obtain the team’s availability, schedule a meeting and progress was often held up as we waited to get together. Now we can utilise Mantle remotely and obtain the information we need quickly and efficiently."
Andrew Crowe
Development Officer
"Personally, I find it very useful as a project management tool for projects I work on; keeping all occasions of contact and relevant information project uploaded on Mantle. By linking in the relevant tags/contacts/projects to an organisation it allows me to see this all related activity in one place or I can filter down to direct activity with an organisation which I really like."
Megan Felton
Project Officer - Community Sport & PA (CYP)

How has Mantle helped you to obtain information?

"Mantle has become the source of all information as colleagues have ditched old monitoring spreadsheets and reverted to solely using Mantle. This is useful as everything is now in the same format, and it’s always available to access no matter what device or network we are on."
Andrew Crowe
Development Officer
"I can quickly access information from every project running by Active Suffolk - this can be useful even when it may not be a project I am working on."
Oliver Ambrose
Assistant Coordinator
"Useful, especially if going to a meeting with an organisation. I can quickly search and find out crucial information prior to the meeting, or to check if colleagues have already been in touch/refresh memory from previous meetings."
Megan Felton
Project Officer - Community Sport & PA (CYP)
"The filter system is very useful for obtaining information, relevant to my projects and contacts. The activity feed is very reader friendly as is the calendar to alert me of upcoming meetings and eventing in our organisation."
Chris Lawson
Project Officer

Devoted
to development.

Our promise.

We are committed to adapting the Mantle platform to provide the Active Partnerships with the tools they need to understand and prove their impact. Along with the question set above, we also asked if there were any features which would make home working easier. We will be introducing many of the suggestions in the next release.
